Designed to provide students specialized knowledge of regulations related to agriculture
and natural resources, this minor emphasizes the legal issues associated with
the production of food, energy, and fiber.
Arboriculture
This minor is designed to provide students educational opportunities in the area of ornamental horticulture as it relates to current urban environments. Emphasis is given to the establishment and management of herbaceous and woody plants used in commercial, recreational and home settings.
Conservation Ecology
This minor is designed to provide students with specialized knowledge and skills that may open the door to new career opportunities, enhance lifelong learning, and promote their roles as informed and active citizens.
Environmental Economics
The minor offers skills aimed specifically at policy issues in environmental and natural resources economics. It can enhance employment opportunities in government agencies and private consulting firms dealing with environmental and natural resource policy or with natural resources firms. The specific minor course requirements are flexible to allow students to create strength in a particular area of experience such as water, air, energy, raw materials, etc.
Forest Resources Management
Designed to provide students educational opportunities in the area of forest resources management, this minor emphasizes courses that provide basic understanding of sustainable forest management in the Appalachian region.

This minor is designed to provide students with a background in sustainable low-rise residential (i.e. single family, multi-family town houses and 2-3 story apartment buildings) construction materials and practices.

This minor focuses on both wildlife and fisheries; preparing students for careers or graduate education in both fields, in the area of management, biology and ecology.
