Will Young

Will Young Will Young was one of the first students to graduate from the WVU Davis College with a degree in environmental and energy resource management.

“After taking several energy and environmental law classes, I sparked an interest with the energy industry and saw infinite opportunities to succeed,” he said.

With guidance from several Davis College faculty members and courses within his major, Young knew he would be well prepared for a successful career in the oil and gas industry.

He graduated in May 2015 and immediately found employment as a CADD technician with Diffenbauch & Hritz Engineering in Morgantown. He was responsible for designing natural gas well pads, access roads and midstream pipelines along with proper erosion and sediment control plans.

To diversify his knowledge even further, Young returned to WVU to pursue a master's degree in energy systems engineering.

"There is a disconnect between the environmental/regulatory side of the energy industry and the production of energy and by combining both E*QUAD and a Master’s in Energy Systems Engineering, it allows a person to know both sides of the energy industry."
